Born in Guadalajara, at home in Wynwood

Cotidiano began on December 12, 2016 — a date of great significance to founder Rodrigo Hecht. Food has always been at the center of his family, with several siblings in the industry and a lifelong pull toward the restaurant world. When Rodrigo found a beautiful space in Guadalajara, he knew what he wanted to build: a specialty market, deli and café, all in one.

He drew inspiration from beloved grocers like Dean & DeLuca in New York and Golden Hog in Miami — places where people gather to meet, to linger and to enjoy the simple pleasure of good food and good company.

The name says it all. Cotidiano means "everyday," and that is the heart of the mission: to inspire people to turn their daily moments into opportunities to transcend. Everything the team does is meant to help others transform the ordinary into something amazing. That spirit lives in the food, too — the menu is built from a place of love, rooted in recipes from Rodrigo's mother and passed down through his family.

Like so many in hospitality, Cotidiano was reshaped by the pandemic. But rather than step back, Rodrigo chose in late 2020 to rebuild the business into what it is today.

When the opportunity came to open in Wynwood, he took it as a sign — the perfect place to bring Cotidiano to the United States. The doors opened in February 2026, carrying the same purpose across borders: to make every everyday moment a chance to create something extraordinary.
